Adopting a Siberian Husky

After waiting for more than 30 years I decided I was finally ready to live with a Siberian Husky. Adopting such a dog was the only choice for me, as I had adopted mixed breed dogs from shelters or rescued lost dogs for years. I knew that Huskies came with many challenges. I was looking for a dog to join me on hiking trails, and the Husky was a good choice for me, even though I live in Southern California. I work from home now, and that played a big part in my decision.


People from all over the world love Siberian Huskies, but not everyone is ready for the challenges these beautiful dogs bring with them. There are so many Huskies in animal shelters since these dogs had escaped their owners, or were surrendered to the shelter for some personal reason. There has been a surge of Huskies abandoned since the Game of Thrones television show. Please watch this video for an important message from PETA regarding Huskies.
